DevCleaner is a focused macOS utility that helps developers see and safely reclaim storage consumed by toolchains, IDEs, simulators, containers, package caches, and AI coding apps.

Why DevCleaner exists

Development tools are unusually good at accumulating data and unusually bad at explaining it. A single machine can carry years of Xcode DerivedData, old simulators, Docker images, package-manager stores, IDE indexes, and model downloads. Some of that data is disposable; some is expensive to rebuild; some contains credentials or work that should never be touched. DevCleaner was built to make those distinctions visible before cleanup happens.

The app scans supported locations locally, presents the estimated reclaimable space, and labels categories Safe, Warning, or Danger. Riskier categories are not preselected. Its safety rules protect known credential and session locations and warn when a related application is running. The goal is practical cleanup with clear tradeoffs, not a black-box "optimize" button.
