FAQ
Questions developers ask before they download.
Short answers from the product docs. The pricing page has the full Free vs Pro table.
Is DevCleaner safe?
Every category is rated Safe, Warning, Danger, or Dangerous+ (uninstall only). Safe caches are selected by default. Risky items are not preselected. Credentials, cookies, and SSH keys are refused during normal cleaning. The app warns before cleaning caches of an app that is still running. Auto Clean, Smart Triggers, and Quick Clean only touch Safe categories.
The labels are explained in staying safe.
Does DevCleaner delete source code?
Source code is not a cleanup target. DerivedData and other Safe caches are regenerable build state. When Project Artifacts cleans folders such as node_modules inside a project, Git-tracked files stay skipped, and so do running builds. Do not use DevCleaner to remove credentials, source code, or active projects on purpose. Hibernation keeps source and lockfiles in a light archive, and restore stays free.
Is DevCleaner free?
Scanning, Safe Quick Clean, Ghost Projects and Project Artifacts discovery, the widget, and restoring a hibernated project are free, with no account. On new installs, Warning and Danger cleanup, custom folders, and cleaning project artifacts need Pro. Some older Free installs keep earlier manual cleanup.
What is Free vs Pro?
Free is $0 and includes scanning plus Safe cleanup. Pro adds Warning and Danger cleanup, custom folders, Dangerous+ uninstall, Auto Clean, Smart Triggers, Project Hibernation, and opt-in Project Auto Clean. Lifetime is $59 once and does not renew. Yearly is $19.99/year until you cancel. A license activates on up to 3 Macs. Tax is excluded.

Does the free trial become a subscription?
No. A 14-day Pro trial does not automatically convert to a paid plan and does not by itself cause a charge. Buying Yearly or Lifetime is a separate checkout. Lifetime does not renew. Yearly renews until you cancel.
Is DevCleaner notarized by Apple?
Yes. The real app is Developer ID signed and notarized by Apple, team David Tereba. Download it from devcleaner.app. Unsigned clones are a different app.
How to check a download is in the clone warning.
Who makes DevCleaner?
