Notifications & inbox

DevCleaner can let you know when background scanning finds enough selected Safe caches to make cleanup worthwhile, while the inbox keeps product messages inside the app.

Cleanup notifications

Choose a reclaimable-space threshold in Settings. When a background scan finds selected SAFE caches above that threshold, DevCleaner can send a notification with a Quick Clean action. A notification is an invitation to review or run the safe-only flow; it does not automatically delete files.

Product messages

Open the inbox from the bell in the menu bar panel to read product messages. System notifications for product messages are off by default. You can enable or disable them in Settings without losing access to the inbox itself.

Keep alerts useful

  • Set a higher threshold if frequent cache changes create noise.
  • Use the main window for Warning, Danger and project-specific decisions.
  • Turn off product-message notifications if you prefer to check the bell only when you open DevCleaner.

macOS notification permissions also apply. If alerts are enabled in DevCleaner but do not appear, check System Settings → Notifications for DevCleaner.

FAQ

Does a cleanup notification delete anything?
No. It offers Quick Clean, which only works on selected Safe categories.
Where are product messages?
Open the bell in the DevCleaner menu bar panel.
Can I disable product-message notifications?
Yes. They are off by default and can be controlled in Settings.
